Who we are

The New Zealand Stonemasons Association is an organisation set up by stonemasons committed to developing a cohesive and supportive body for the advancement of stonemasonry as a trade in New Zealand.

NZSMA aim to preserve standards of practice, support and advocate for Stone Masonry within New Zealand and develop a database of stonemasonry information.

  • Paul Gautron

    Chairman of the New Zealand Stone Masons Association - 37 years in the stonemasonry trade and fourth generation Master Mason City & Guilds qualifications in stonemasonry and NZQA level 5 Stonemasonry originally from the UK, moved to New Zealand in 2003

  • Mark Robberds

    Mark has run his own stonemasonry firm in Christchurch for the past 20 years. He loves working with clients to achieve great results and getting involved in the design process. Mark is passionate about training stonemasons and has put 7 masons through formal apprenticeships. He has also worked with the BCITO on the recently developed Construction Stonemasonry.
